Creating an Account

How can I create an account?

Creating an account is straightforward. The simplest method is to log in using your Apple or Google account. This provides an easy and secure way to access Perplexity over the long term, and we recommend it if available to you.

Alternatively, you can sign up using your email address. After signing up, you'll receive a login link in your email inbox, which will direct you to Perplexity securely.

Account Security and Management

Can I create a password for my account?

Currently, we do not support the creation of passwords. Instead, you must log in using the link verification process sent to your email, ensuring a secure access method without the need for passwords.

Can I change the email address associated with my account?

No, once an email address is registered with an account, it cannot be changed. If you lose access to your email or need to change it for security reasons, please contact support at to request account deletion.

Do you set up or have access to my password?

No, we do not set up passwords or have access to them, as Perplexity does not use passwords for login. Access is granted through Google or Apple authentication or via sign-in links sent to your email.

Is it possible to transfer data between accounts?

No, transferring data between accounts is not supported.

Can I transfer my Pro Subscription to another account?

Pro Subscriptions purchased on the web can be transferred, but those bought via mobile cannot. If you need to transfer a web-purchased subscription, please contact for assistance.

Can I share my account with someone else?

Sharing your account is strongly discouraged due to privacy and security concerns. It also violates our Terms of Use, risking account suspension or termination. You are responsible for all activities on your account. To protect your information, do not share your account. If you suspect unauthorized use of your account, please reach out to our support team.

Is a VPN compatible with Perplexity?

Using a VPN with Perplexity is not recommended, as it may trigger frequent security checks by Cloudflare and potentially render the mobile app unusable. If you experience persistent loading issues or security checks, it may indicate VPN interference.
