Billing

Do you offer corporate/educational institutions subscription plans?

No, we currently don’t offer specialised subscription plans. As we grow, we might accommodate such subscriptions in the future.

For corporate, can I share my account with others within my organization?

Each individual employee has to have their own Perplexity Pro account. A single payment method is able to be used for all employees.

We will be happy to help you set up multiple accounts as we continue to work on expanding our subscription services, please email support@perplexity.ai for assistance.

What payment methods do you accept?

  • Credit and debit cards (Visa, Master Card and AMEX)

  • Cash App

  • Google and Apple Pay

  • ACH Transfer

Are there any restrictions concerning payment methods and countries of origin?

We will not be able to accept payment methods that are not the ones stated above. Iif your charge is getting denied and you are from one of these countries, there is a limitation on Stripe’s end that we are unable to forego.

  • India (only applies for cards that are not MasterCard or Visa)

  • Russia

How to download a subscription payment invoice or a receipt?

To download an invoice go to Set. tings by clicking on your profile at the bottom of the left side menu. Scroll down to find Subscription under Perplexity Pro. Click on Manage Pro which will redirect you to the current plan page. Scroll down to the bottom to INVOICE HISTORY and click on the billing date of your choice. You will be redirected to a new window with an option to download the invoice or your receipt.

How can I update my billing information?

To update your billing information go to Settings by clicking on your profile at the bottom of the left side menu. Scroll down to find Subscription under Perplexity Pro. Click on Manage Pro which will redirect you to the current plan page. Scroll down to find Update Information under BILLING AND SHIPPING INFORMATION. Once you click on it you should be able to update your billing related information and save it.

How to change/add payment method?

To change/add a payment method go to Settings by clicking on your profile at the bottom of the left side menu. Scroll down to find Subscription under Perplexity Pro. Click on Manage Pro which will redirect you to the current plan page. Click on edit icon next to your payment method to edit and click on + Add payment method to add a new payment method to your account.


More Subscription Questions

  • How can I start a subscription?

    Click on Learn More under Pro on the left side menu. Choose a subscription plan (monthly/yearly) and finish the payment. After the payment goes through successfully you will be a Perplexity Pro user.

  • Is it possible to pause my subscription?

    No, users are not allowed to pause a subscription at the moment. In the event you cannot make a payment then you can cancel your subscription and start it again at a suitable time.

  • What happens if I don't renew my subscription?

    You will be reverted to the free version after the current billing cycle is completed and can no longer use the Pro features.

  • How to download a subscription payment invoice or a receipt?

Cancellation

If I delete my account, will it terminate my subscription?

No, please ensure you have terminated your subscription before deleting your account. If you have subscribed through Stripe (web) then please visit your Settings page and cancel through Subscription Management

If you have subscribed through one of the apps, please do so through the subscription management window for the respective OS you have (Android or iOS)

How do I cancel my subscription?

To cancel your subscription go to Settings by clicking on your profile at the bottom of the left side menu. Scroll down to find Subscription under Perplexity Pro. Click on Manage Pro which will redirect you to the current plan page. Click on Cancel plan.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. Please note that your account will be reverted back to the free version after the end of the current billing cycle.

What happens to my account when I cancel a subscription?

Your Pro subscription will not be renewed for the next billing cycle and your account will be reverted back to the free version when you cancel the subscription.

Is it possible to reactivate my subscription after canceling?

Yes you can reactivate your subscription after canceling. To reactivate your subscription go to Settings by clicking on your profile at the bottom of the left side menu. Scroll down to find Subscription under Perplexity Pro. Click on Manage Pro which will redirect you to the current plan page. Click on Renew plan or Update plan and complete the payment.

Do I need to cancel my subscription before the renewal date to avoid charges?

Yes, if you do not want to continue being a Pro user you should cancel the subscription before the current billing cycle ends to avoid subscription renewal charges.


I’ve cancelled my subscription, but I’ve been charged or charges are being attempted. What can I do?

Please double check that you’ve cancelled your subscription, if charges have been made or keep getting attempted after this email us at support@perplexity.ai for assistance

Refunds

What is your refund policy?

We have different refund policies based on the subscription type, regional laws and account status.

EU, UK, or Turkey Customers: If you live in the EU, UK, or Turkey, you are eligible for a refund if you cancel your subscription within 14 days of purchase, this applies to both monthly subscriptions and annual subscriptions. In your refund request, please specify you are applying for a refund from the EU, UK, or Turkey.

All other costumers

While we adhere strictly to our own policies, we recognize that errors can occur and Perplexity may not meet your requirements. We aim to make the refund policy as reasonable as possible.

  1. Monthly Subscriptions: You can apply for a monthly refund up to 48 hours after the purchase date. Include details on why you are requesting a refund.

  2. Annual Subscriptions: Subscribers are eligible for a full refund within 72 hours of the original purchase date and time. No exceptions will be made to those who applied for refunds after this period of time.

How can I request a refund?

You can request a refund by reaching contacting us through your settings page through Intercom or emailing support@perplexity.ai

I forgot to unsubscribe, can I request a refund after this period?

Given it follows the guidelines mentioned above. We will issue a refund based on this condition.

I subscribed through the app, how do I proceed?

If you subscribed through Google Play, we are able to process the refund ourselves. For Apple subscribers, it is not possible for us to give refunds through them. Please follow these steps to apply for a refund:

  1. Sign in using the same Apple ID associated with the App Store purchase

  2. Check your digital purchase history

  3. Tap the "What can we help you with?" text box at the top and select "Request a refund" to get started

  4. Follow the instructions

I want a refund or credit for the annual subscription so I can change to a monthly subscription, is this possible?

The same policy applies as above, you will be able to process a refund given it's within the time established above. We do not take credit from this transaction, so you will have to begin a new monthly subscription and pay the given amount at that moment.

How can I request a refund?

Keeping in mind the policy above, you can request a refund by reaching out to us at support@perplexity.ai or creating a ticket on our Intercom window.

Account Termination: If your account is terminated for violating Perplexity's Terms of Use, you will not receive a refund for any remaining credit or prepaid service

Trial period

How long is the free trial period?

7 days and it exists only for the yearly subscription plan. Please note that at the end of the trial you will be charged, if you'd like to avoid this please remind yourself to cancel before the end of the trial.

What features can I access during the free trial?

You can access all Perplexity Pro features during the 7 days free trial period.

Do I need to provide my credit card information for the free trial?

Yes, you are required to provide payment details for the free trial.

Will I be charged automatically when the trial period ends?

Yes, you will be charged at the end of the free trial period if you do not cancel your subscription within 7 days. Please be aware that this charge will take 24 to process.

How do I cancel my subscription before the free trial period ends?

To cancel the subscription go to Settings by clicking on your profile at the bottom of the left side menu. Scroll down to find Subscription under Perplexity Pro. Click on Manage Pro which will redirect you to the current plan page. Click on Cancel plan.

Do all subscription plans come with a free trial?

The 7 day free trial period is available only with the yearly subscription plan.

iOS App Billing & Subscription

All purchases made through the Perplexity iOS app are managed through the App Store. Please remember that subscriptions will automatically renew unless it is cancelled before the end of the current period. The charge will go through 24 hours before the end of the period.

How can I get a subscription?

  1. Tap on the settings icon located in the top left corner of the app.

  2. Tap on Perplexity Pro → Learn More.

  3. Choose your plan. To learn more about Pro, click here.

  4. Double-click to subscribe or input your Apple ID password. Your subscription will be tied to your Apple ID Account, established at the bottom of the screen.

  5. You will then have access to Perplexity Pro. Enjoy!

How can I cancel my subscription?

  1. Go to the App Store app.

  2. Tap on the upper right icon to access your account profile

  3. Tap on Subscriptions

  4. Look for Perplexity - Ask Anything and tap on it.

  5. You will be able to cancel your subscription.

How can I change my subscription from monthly to annual?

  1. Go to the App Store app.

  2. Tap on the upper right icon to access your account profile

  3. Tap on Subscriptions

  4. Look for Perplexity - Ask Anything and tap on it.

  5. You will be able to modify your subscription.

I would like a refund, how do I proceed?

All refunds are handled by Apple, please follow these steps to submit a refund claim. We authorise refund requests made within 30 days of the date in which you subscribed.

  1. Go to: reportaproblem.apple.com

  2. Sign in using the same Apple ID associated with the App Store purchase

  3. Check your digital purchase history

  4. Tap the "What can we help you with?" text box at the top and select "Request a refund" to get started

  5. Follow the instructions

Can I transfer my subscription to another Perplexity account?

Because the subscription is handled by Apple, it is not possible to change or transfer a subscription to another email address.

If you’d like to subscribe using another email address, submit a refund request or wait until your subscription expires and then sign up using another account.

How can I update my billing information? or change/add payment method?

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

  2. Tap your name.

  3. Tap Payment & Shipping. You might be asked to sign in with your Apple ID.

  4. To add a new payment method, tap Add Payment Method, enter the new payment method details, then tap Done.

  5. To update an existing payment method, tap the payment method, then edit your information. You might need to enter the security code printed on your credit or debit card.

  6. To remove a payment method, tap Edit, tap the red delete button next to the old payment method, then tap Delete


Android App Billing & Subscription

How can I start a subscription?

Tap on the settings icon located in the top left corner of the app.

  1. Tap on Perplexity Pro → Learn More.

  2. Choose your plan. To learn more about Pro, click here.

  3. Chose your subscription, remember that it will be tied to the Google account tied to your Google Play store.

  4. Once you have payed, you will then have access to Perplexity Pro. Enjoy!

How can I cancel my subscription?

  1. Go to the Google Play App

  2. Tap on your Settings Icon on the upper right corner of the screen.

  3. Tap on Payments & Subscriptions

  4. Tap on Perplexity - Ask Anything

  5. You will be able to see all settings associated to your subscription with us.

  6. You can cancel your subscription by tapping the Cancel Subscription button at the bottom of the screen.

How can I update my billing information? or change/add payment method?

  1. Open the Google Play app.

  2. At the top right, tap the profile icon.

  3. Tap Payments & subscriptions and then Payment methods and then More payment settings.

  4. If asked, sign in to Google Pay.

  5. Under the payment method you want to edit, tap Edit.

  6. Make your changes.

  7. Tap Update

Can I transfer my subscription to another Perplexity account?

Because the subscription is handled by Play Store, it is not possible to change or transfer a subscription to another email address.

If you’d like to subscribe using another email address, submit a refund request or wait until your subscription expires and then sign up using another account.

I would like a refund, how do I proceed?

Refunds are handled by the Play Store and Perplexity. You can submit a refund claim through Google, or email us at support@perplexity.ai with details on why you would like a refund.

Here are the steps to submit a claim through Play Store:

  1. Go to play.google.com.

  2. At the top right, click your Profile picture.

  3. Click "Payments & subscriptions" and then "Budget & order history."

  4. For the order you want to return, click "Report a problem."

  5. Select the option that describes your situation and complete the form, noting that you'd like a refund.

  6. Click "Submit"

Troubleshooting

I subscribed through the app or web; why can’t I see my Pro status on the app or web browser?

Please ensure you are logged in using the same account you have a subscription on. If you signed in using Apple, you can sign in to perplexity.ai using Apple on the web browser as well.

You can double-check which email your Perplexity account is signed into by going to your Settings profile on either the web browser or the app

I have a duplicate subscription, what should I do?

Contact us through Intercom on the web or support@perplexity.ai and we will help you figure out the best course of action depending on your situation.
